I'm fundraising for...

Blaxland House Charity Week

The Paper Plane Challenge (Friday 4th September) is designed to be a fun whole-school House activity while raising funds and awareness for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

How the challenge will work

• Boys will work within their House Patrols to build a paper plane at school using standard paper provided on the day.

• Patrol Leaders and older boys will help younger members of their Patrol, with a small group of "Flight Engineers" available to assist with plane building and adjustments.

• After some practice and testing, each boy will have two official throws. His longest flight will be recorded as his official distance.

We're fundraising for...

For many of our boys and families, this will be their first opportunity to learn more about the amazing work of the RFDS. For more than 90 years, the Royal Flying Doctor Service has helped provide vital healthcare to people living, working and travelling across rural and remote Australia. From emergency retrievals to primary healthcare, mental health services and specialist care, the RFDS helps ensure that distance does not become a barrier to receiving medical support.

This year also marks Blaxland House’s first charitable connection with the RFDS. We hope that next week is not simply a one-off event, but the beginning of a long-lasting relationship between the ‘Golden House’ and an organisation whose work so strongly reflects service, compassion and care.

My impact

So far, my fundraising could help…

Provide a full range of life saving medication such as sedatives, pain relief and antibiotics so the Flying Doctor can be ready for 37 emergency situations.

Send 19 life saving-medical chest to remote communities

Provide one on one counselling to 12 outback Australians during a difficult time

Purchase 8 pieces of equipment that could include ventilators, defibrillators and infusion pumps which are used on board flights

Thank you to my supporters
