Walking for Wellness 2025

Margaret Symes will be completing a huge journey to raise money and awareness for The Royal Flying Doctor Service Wellbeing Place services in Broken Hill. Previously, Margaret has walked twice from Tibooburra to Broken Hill raising over $51,000 to support the vital Mental Health, Wellbeing, Alcohol and other Drug services that The Wellbeing Place provide to Broken Hill and outreach clinics across Far West.

Margaret will be completing this third and final walk of  360km from White Cliffs, across rugged landscapes to Packsaddle and then will descend South  along the main road to complete her journey in Broken Hill. Margaret aims to raise further awareness of the Mental Health, Alcohol and other Drug services provided by RFDS to those living in rural and remote Far West and continue to spread awareness.

The RFDS Mental Health, Wellbeing, Alcohol and other Drug team provide direct clinical services to ensure that children, adults, families and communities have equal access and opportunity to discover and care for their mental health and wellbeing through their team of professionals. As the demand for our service grows, your support will help us meet the needs of regional, rural and remote communities.

The Wellbeing Place has been designed to create a sense of welcome, calm and safety for all people to access as they need. The team at The Wellbeing Place are all very kind, approachable and responsive, providing services to Broken Hill and 16 remote clinics across Far West. With less accessibility and awareness of mental health services in isolated communities, they are proud to be able to reduce the impact of mental illness through promotion, prevention, treatment and recovery.

Make today the day that you make a difference, support Margaret by either joining her or donating to her as she works toward creating awareness and raising funds for Mental Health.
